We’re breaking up.
But we can’t agree about our children

The reality is that a divorce or separation can sometimes become bitter. It is of paramount importance to minimise the negative impact on your children, to protect them and keep them happy.

Hard-to-face, but vital decisions concerning where they will live, and how often they will see their other parent, need to be established as soon as possible. If we can’t resolve the dispute together, the Court may become involved. But it is only when we have exhausted all routes that we will then – and only then - involve the Court.

Orders a court can make include:

  • Parental Responsibility Orders
  • Residence Orders
  • Contact Orders
  • Prohibited Steps Orders
  • Specific Issue Orders

If you’re confused about any legal jargon or legal instruction, see our ‘Glossary of Divorce and Family Law Terms’ in our ‘Store Cupboard’.
